The Composite Process Engineering Technician is responsible for supporting continuous improvement of the composite manufacturing process.
Leveraging department composite expertise, the Composite Process Engineering Technician will support and lead safety, quality, and productivity improvement projects, as well as R&D/engineering trials contributing to the continued growth of Geotek.

Previous experience in composite manufacturing is considered highly desirable.

Available Shifts 1st Shift 8pm-5pm 2nd Shift 2pm-10pm Duties and Responsibilities Daily engineering support of the composite manufacturing process, and also cross functional support of the filament winding process Perform daily tasks of engineering projects that support and improve safety, quality, and productivity in the pultrusion and filament winding operations departments Challenge current operating procedures and identify, research, and propose new equipment, technologies, and processes Create and maintain clear documentation of operating standards and processes to support training and technical assistance to the operations team, and provide periodic training to operations team Utilize SolidWorks 3D CAD software to create, modify, and maintain composite manufacturing tooling and ancillary components Support engineering R&D trails as directed Maintain clear, complete, and accurate records for project documentation Maintain and promote a clean and organized work space Support other tasks and projects as assigned Job Requirements Two-year associates degree; mechanical, chemical, or composites focus preferred 2-5 years of professional experience working in a manufacturing environment, with recent composites/pultrusion/filament winding experience strongly preferred Must be an energetic and hands-on problem solver, self-motivated, self-starting, and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize accordingly Professional and concise communication and verbal skills are essential Familiarity with common thermoset resin systems, including polyester, vinyl-ester, and urethane is highly desirable.
Familiarity with common manufacturing tooling design and development is desirable Excellent communication skills (written and oral) is essential Ability to work with different levels of staff, from line workers to executives, is highly desirable Experience with 3D modeling using SolidWorks of parts, assemblies, and drawings with GD&T per ANSI Y14.
5; Formal GD&T training is desirable Physical Work Conditions Time should be split between the floor and the office or meeting rooms ranging anywhere from 25% to 75% on the production floor or engineering labs.
While working on the floor there will be work with and around moving machinery, fumes, and chemicals.
Office work requires sitting at a desk, using a computer and phone.
